RIYADH: King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has appointed Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan as the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, following a proposal by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to Saudi media, Sheikh Saleh has also been appointed as the head of the Senior Scholars Council, and his rank will be equivalent to that of a minister.
It is noteworthy that Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan has been appointed as the Kingdom’s Grand Mufti following the death of the former Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al ash-Sheikh.
