SIALKOT: In a swift and effective operation, Rangpura police recovered a six-month-old baby girl who had been abducted from a private hospital in Sialkot, just three hours after the incident occurred. The kidnapping took place on Sunday and was later captured on CCTV, which helped authorities identify and trace the suspect.
According to the infant’s mother, a young woman estimated to be around 22 years old had lingered in the hospital ward for nearly five hours before making off with the child. Disguised as a CCD official, the woman reportedly attempted to blend in and deceive hospital staff and attendants.
Acting promptly upon the complaint, local police launched a search operation and tracked down the suspect, identified as Hadia, hiding on the rooftop of a nearby shopping plaza. The child was found safe and was promptly reunited with her parents.
Further investigation revealed that Hadia’s mother claimed her daughter suffers from mental health issues and has an unusual attachment to infants, often showing a desire to care for them.
Police have since taken Hadia into custody and filed a formal case against her. The family of the rescued infant expressed immense relief and praised the police for their rapid response, chanting slogans in support of the Punjab Police.
