Sindh budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 to be presented today

Karachi: The provincial government of Sindh will present budget for the financial year 2024-2025 today while the Sindh budget has an outlay of 3 trillion rupees

It is likely that the provincial government employee get an increase of their salaries by 15 to 20 percent.

The Sindh government has announced to stick to its committement to people in its election manifesto that it will fullfil its promise of providing free electricity upto 300 units.

The provincial government has also decided to introduce farmer card in this year budget.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah who has portfolio of finance ministry will present the budget in the Sindh Assembly today.

The budget session of the Sindh Assembly will start after Friday prayers.

Giving a briefing on the upcoming budget, Minister for Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government would provide relief to the salaried class and poor people in the budget. He said President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto wanted that the increase in the salaries should be proportional to inflation.

“Providing water facilities and low-cost electricity to the people of Sindh are the top priorities in the budget and Bilawal Bhutto wishes that no new tax be imposed on the people,” he said.
