Karachi: The Planning and Development Department (PDD) has suggested establishment of Unified Identification Number (UID) for development schemes in a cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday.
The Sindh cabinet meeting was held in chair of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah while provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, additional chief secretary home, chairman PDD and other respective officers were in attendance.
As per the PDD, at the moment there exists ADP scheme number and which is changed every year, owing to change in number tracing the scheme is turned difficult when UID code will be alloted then it will apprise whole statues untill the scheme gets completed.
The cabinet after deliberating upon the suggestion approved making of ADP along with UID code from the new year. The cabinet also approved Rs 58 billion for nine projects under the public private partnership (PPP) basis.
The project and its expenditure include Rs 4.3 billion for Maripur Expressway, Rs five billion for Korangi link road, Rs 7. 32 billion for Karachi Hub Water Canal, Rs 440 million for North Karachi children hospital, Rs 13. 1 billion for Malir Expressway, Rs 6.8 billion for Ghotki Kandhkot bridge
