Sindh Cabinet Equalizes Police Salaries to Punjab Police

KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet has approved on Monday the increase in salaries of Sindh police and equalized to Punjab police.

The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting presided over by the chief minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

Announcing the decision, during the talks with media, information minister Sindh Murtaza Wahab said that cabinet has given the go-ahead to equalize the Sindh police salaries to Punjab police and it will come into effect from February.

“The increment in salaries will cost extra burden of Rs 5.50 billion to the province exchequer,” he mentioned.

Replying to a question over the construction of buildings, he said that the government has restored the previous procedure to lease new buildings in Karachi.

“Cabinet has also given the green signal for the issuance of funds to government hospital New Karachi, upgrade Karachi medical and dental college to university, setting of safe houses and amendment in land revenue act, however the powers to appoint board of governors of Syndicate  have been handed to chief minister Sindh,” he explained.

Provincial minister said that cabinet approved the establishment of parks, playgrounds and also formed a committee comprises of minister for local bodies, transport and culture will present its recommendations to cabinet.
