Sindh Cabinet Forms Committee To Hold Talks With Opposition Parties On Local Bodies Act

Karachi: Sindh cabinet on Wednesday formed a committee to hold talks with the opposition parties over the local bodies act while the cabinet declared Bundle and Baddu island as a protected forests. On the other hand the cabinet barred sub-registrar to transfer land of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah presided a cabinet meeting today.

Talks on Local Bodies With Opposition

A committee is formed to negotiate with the opposition parties over the local bodies act. Local body minister Nasir Hussain Shah briefed the cabinet about his negotiation with the opposition parties.


Nasir Shah apprised the cabinet about his talks with religio Political party Jamat Islami (JI) and Pak Sar Zameen Party (PSP) and other parties. The meeting decided to fully implement agreed points in the talks with the opposition parties.


The CM Sindh said that the provincial government will implement what Nasir Shah agreed with the opposition parties.

Bundle Island and Badu Island Declared Protected Forests

The bundle Island and Badu Island were declared a protected forests in the cabinet meeting.

PSM Land Transfer Stopped


The cabinet stopped the sub-registrar to transfer land of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM). The provincial cabinet directed that the land given to Pakistan Steel Mills by the Sindh government can not be sold out.

Purchase Of Wheat


A purchase of 1.4 million metric ton of wheat has been approved by the cabinet along with fixing the aid rate of wheat Rs 2200. The cabinet also approved a fund of Rs 4,450 Million for buying wheat.

Empty Vacancies In Prison Department
It was informed to the cabinet that as many as 2,113 posts from grade 5 to 15 are lied vacant in the department of prison while the cabinet approved third party bidding for the recruitment.

Compensation Amount For Cooperative and Victoria Markets


The provincial cabinet also approved compensation amount for affectees of the Cooperative markets and Victoria market.

It is pertinent to mention here that on November 14, 2021, a fire was erupted in the buildings that damaged buildings and traders got a loss of million of rupees. A compensation amount of Rs 910 million was approved.
