KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the summary proposed to remove the controversial Vice-Chancellor of the Sindh University Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat under embezzlement and harassment charges, AbbTakk news reported late on Thursday night.
As per the details, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has given approval for the removal of SU VC Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat under the charges of corruption, harassment, embezzlement and alleged irregularities. The summary also directed the Director university’s Laar campus Siddique Kalhoro to assume the charge temporarily.
The summary was proposed to the Sindh CM by Universities and Boards Department and awaited approval. The VC Burfat was charged for ill-practices, embezzlement, harassment and causing a loss of Rs760 million to the national exchequer during his tenure.
On the other hands, VC Burfat has denied any such reports and told the media that in case of any such notice he will consult his lawyer for the due legal process.
It is pertinent to mention here that the university’s staffers were demanding for his removal since the past several months.
