Sindh culture day celebrated with traditional spirit across the Province

KARACHI: Sindh Culture Day is being enthusiastically observed across the province, including in Jacobabad, where celebrations are underway with traditional passion and cultural pride

Various organizations have organised rallies in the city, with participants dressed in traditional Sindhi attire, wearing Ajrak and Sindhi caps as an expression of love for their heritage.

In Larkana district, special stalls offering Sindhi clothing, Ajrak and caps have been set up, while multiple cultural rallies are moving through different areas to mark the occasion. These processions will converge at Jinnah Bagh Chowk in the evening, where speakers will address the gathering. A colourful musical night is also scheduled to entertain participants.

Similar festivities are taking place in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thul, Tharparkar, Mirpur Mathelo, Sajawal, Ghotki, Kandhkot, Daharki, Kashmore and Ubaro, reflecting the province-wide enthusiasm for the day.

President Zardari’s Message

In his message on the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari said Sindh holds a unique historical and cultural status, especially after its separation from the Bombay Presidency, which helped it establish a distinct constitutional and cultural identity.

He noted that Sindh was the first province in undivided India whose assembly passed a resolution in favour of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

The president also highlighted the richness of the Sindhi language, terming it one of the most developed languages in the country, as reflected by the large number of newspapers, television and radio channels operating in Sindhi.
