Sindh Energy Minister seeks federal government help for solution of problems

Islamabad: Minister of energy Sindh Nasir Shah called on President Asif Zardari, who is also the co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), at the president house.

The provincial Minister for energy Nasir Shah has sought the help of the federal government while the Minister briefed the President about energy related projects.

Nasir Shah also apprised the President about solar program.

At the occasion the President expressed determination to solve problems of all provinces including Sindh.

Earlier on yesterday, the World Bank has endorsed Sindh government solar system project on Wednesday.

The CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah presided a meeting reviewing the World Bank-assisted projects. The World Bank country director Mr Najy Benhassine along with high power team also attended the meeting.

The World has endorsed a provision of 0.2 million units of Solar system to the poor people.

Provincial Minister for power and energy Nasir Hussain briefed the meeting over the project. The World Bank praised the Sindh government initiative.

The World Bank also briefed on Karachi Water Sewerage Service Improvement (KWSSI) Project. The aim of KWSSI is to provide water to Karachi and bringing improvement in the water board financial situation.

The meeting was informed that a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for water board was appointed.

The water board audit of 2018-2019, 2019-2020 has been completed whereas the audit of 2021 to 2024 will be completed till September this year.

It was also briefed the meeting that the documents of K-IV extension project has been shared with the World Bank.
