KARACHI: The Sindh government has extended its restriction on the public display of firearms for another month, from November 1 through November 30, 2026.
A Home Department notification issued under Section 144 says private security guards may carry weapons while on duty, but must not display or brandish them. Guards travelling in vehicles must keep their weapons concealed, and displaying firearms while patrolling or working in open areas is prohibited.
The order also bans unnecessary display of weapons that could alarm the public. Violators may face action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, with relevant station house officers authorised to register cases.
