Karachi: Sindh government has made registration of new born across the province free to ensure 100 percent registration of every new birth of a child. 

Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah on Wednesday, today, chaired an important meeting on birth registration of new babies across the province.

The meeting decided to amend Sindh local government act to make birth registration mandatory.

The Chief Secretary said that the birth registration is a basic step for provision of health, education and other rights to children.

He said that the local government act will be amended to make birth registration mandatory.

He apprised that the birth registration has been made free throughout the province.

He said that the measure will help provision of protective injections, education and other basic facilities to the children.
