Sindh govt postpones decision to close marriage halls by 10:00pm till Feb

KARACHI: Sindh government has decided to postpone its earlier decision to close marriage halls by 10:00 pm and ban on serving more than one dishes in marriage ceremonies till Feb 1, 2017.

The provincial government early this month had decided to ensure strict implementation on its decisions to close marriage halls by 10:00 pm and ban on serving more than one dishes.

After the decision, on complaints of traders and marriage halls owners, the government constituted a committee headed by Industry Minister Manzoor Wassan to look into their complaints.

On Saturday, Manzoor Wassan met Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and informed about the reservations of traders and marriage halls owners.

He said that the orders for early closure of the weddings halls and ban on serving more than one dishes cannot be implemented from Nov 1 as the halls have already been booked till January 1 and the parties had made advance payments for serving more than one dishes in the marriage ceremonies .

He informed the chief minister that implementation on the decisions would cause problems for people therefore order should be postponed.

Upon this the Chief Minister postponed implemnetation on the deicisonm by Feb 21. 2017.
