Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali Shah in view of recent rains has ordered to release as many as 476 million rupees for cleaning of drains adding that the drains cleaning should not be stopped except on Eid days.
A huddle was held in CM house over rain emergency chaired by the CM. The meeting discussed the situation in the city after rains.
Sources said the CM was briefed that cleaning of four drains has been started while water provided to city’s west areas from Hub adding that Dhabeji pumping station has faced damages after K-Electric feeders tripped.
The CM instructed at the occasion that water supply to citizens must be ensured by installing generators. While the CM Sindh has instructed Karachi metropolitan cooperation, water board, district municipal corporation and Deputy Commissioner (DC’s) to keep themselves motivated at all time.
Sources said that the CM also has directed to secretary energy to talk to K-Electric regarding load shedding in the city.
