KARACHI: The provincial government on Saturday submitted sealed report prepared by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding Lyari gangwar head Uzair Baloch and Baldia Town factory fire tragedy.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamuddin Abbasi held hearing over petition submitted by federal minister Ali Zaidi seeking publicising JIT report regarding gangster Uzair Baloch and Baldia Town tragedy.
However, Sindh government rejected any information regarding notification released pertaining Nisar Morai’s JIT report.
Justice Kalhoro said that the court will review probe reports in chamber. Zaidi’s counsel said that suspicions were existed regarding reports of both investigation teams of Sindh government. He said that it should be scrutinised regarding originality of the reports while petitioner will also present JIT reports. He pleaded SHC to investigate into original reports.
Justice Kalhoro remarked that the court will return JIT reports to the government. Umar Soomro said that the court could secure copies of the investigation reports as the government wanted to publicise the report through court.
He added that the petitioner doesn’t believe Sindh government for making the reports public while how can the provincial authorities rejected existence of related notification. The counsel said that they will submit notification of Nisar Morai’s JIT report with affidavit.
The court directed the Sindh government and lawyer of Ali Zaidi to file replies in the case. Later, the hearing was adjourned till March 9.
