KARACHI: The Sindh government has raised the house rent allowance for Secretariat employees from 50% to 85%, following protests by the Sindh Secretariat Employees Welfare Association (SENWA).
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved the increase, which will take effect on July 1, 2026. The revised rate brings the allowance in line with those offered to employees in other provinces.
The allowance will be paid every three months and deposited directly into employees’ bank accounts.
