KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi has announced the initiation of a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) summer program designed for students across the province. The initiative aims to provide young learners with practical technological skills during the upcoming school holiday period.
During a press conference held at the Governor’s House in Karachi, Hashmi emphasized that students will receive hands-on training in AI at no cost, equipping them to meet the challenges of an increasingly digital world.
Prominent figures including Minister of State and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Fahad Haroon and Danyal Nagori attended the event. Hashmi highlighted that children who are familiar with using mobile phones can easily grasp AI concepts with proper guidance.
He underscored that early exposure to technology is now essential, not a luxury. “Countries that invest in education, research, and skill development from a young age tend to stay ahead globally,” he remarked.
Hashmi added that nations progressing today are those that integrate technology and innovation into their education systems from the outset. “Our objective is to transform youth from job seekers into opportunity creators,” he stated.
He further advocated for introducing AI and other modern skills at the school level, emphasizing that such education can unlock opportunities in higher education, employment, innovation, and economic growth.
Danyal Nagori announced that interested students can register for the AI Summer Program via the official website of the Governor of Sindh, www.governorsindh.com.
He expressed the goal of nurturing a generation of young entrepreneurs capable of generating employment opportunities for others. Participation in the program is completely free of charge.
