Karachi: A major terrorist bid foiled in Karachi on Monday while one alleged terrorist was killed five others arrested.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) along with an intelligence agencies on a tip off raided a hideout of terrorists in Shah Latif Town of Karachi then the terrorists attack Armour vehicle of the officials with hand grenades.
After the alleged police encounter a huge cache of ammunition recovered from the possession of the terrorists which included 4 suicide vests, 15 hand grenades, 2 rocket launcher, 4 Kalashnikov and hundreds of bullets.
Holding a presser with Inspector General (IG) Sindh and Deputy Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department (DIG CTD) provincial minister Nasir Hussain Shah declaring the police action as a big success said that those terrorists who were arrested wanted to target Sindh Assembly.
IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehar said that there is no short term solution for the street crimes in Karachi while he said that we are trying to improve CCTV footage’s and other equipment
Deputy Inspector General (CTD) Umar Hamid apprised that a threat alert was issued a few days ago in the wake of this action was taken adding that terrorists are being investigated.
