Karachi: Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has ordered taking action against transporters raising transports fares unfairly on occasion of Eid Ul Fitr in the inter-city buses.
On the instructions of Transport Minister, provincial government has speed up crack down against transporters demanding additional fares on Eid.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic and commissioners have been instructed taking immediate action against transporters on up-ticking fares illegally.
Sharjeel Memon said that strict action will be taken against transporters receiving additional fares.
The Minister said that exploitation of the people will not be allowed.
The Transport Minister also shared a whats-app number for registering of complaints against transporters illegal fares.
He said that for saving the people from additional financial burden, the Sindh government is taking every possible measures.
He said that heart’s desire of the transporters will be shut while fines and legal action will be taken against transporters charging additional fares.
The Minister said that the transporters have to make sure implementing fixed fares, otherwise legal action will be taken against them.
He urged the people if any transporter is charging then promptly register the complaints.
On all bus depot and terminals, orders have been given to take actions on daily basis all across the Sindh.
