KARACHI: Karachi’s Orangi Town-based Sirat-e-Mustaqeem Welfare Trust has once again demonstrated that compassion combined with proactive measures can bring renewed hope to those facing hardship. As heavy rains and flash floods continue to devastate southern Punjab—particularly in areas like Alipur, Sultanpur, and Muzaffargarh the Trust has mobilized to support thousands of affected families.
In recent weeks, the relentless floods have led to the destruction of numerous homes, the loss of crops, and the displacement of countless families struggling with critical shortages of food, shelter, and healthcare. In response, Sirat-e-Mustaqeem Welfare Trust launched an extensive relief campaign, deploying teams of volunteers to the most impacted regions.
The organization has set up free medical clinics, distributed cooked and dry food supplies, provided mosquito nets and tents, and installed water boreholes to ensure access to safe drinking water. To date, thousands of families have received vital aid through these emergency relief efforts.
The Trust’s founder and chairman—an energetic and compassionate humanitarian has been personally overseeing relief activities on the ground. His ongoing presence among flood victims has become a symbol of hope and resilience, motivating volunteers and community members alike. During a visit to some of the flooded areas, Chairman Muzammil Malik highlighted the importance of collective effort:“This is the moment for compassion and decisive action. Many families are still waiting for help, and it’s our duty to ensure that no one feels forgotten or forsaken.”
