Six foreign tourists killed as submarine sinks in Egypt

CAIRO: A tourist submarine sank in the Red Sea near the coastal city of Hurghada, Egypt, resulting in the deaths of six foreign tourists.

According to foreign news agencies, citing Egyptian state media, six foreign tourists killed and 29 other individuals were rescued from the incident.

Meanwhile, the Russian embassy in Egypt claimed that all the passengers aboard the submarine were Russian nationals. According to the embassy, there were a total of 35 people on the submarine, including children.

According to foreign news agencies, the incident occurred at around 10 a.m. local time, approximately one kilometer from the shore. Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident.

It is worth noting that Hurghada is located about 460 kilometers southeast of Cairo and is one of Egypt’s major tourist destinations
