KARACHI: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued a new schedule for the supply of gas to different parts of Lahore during Sehri and Iftari in the holy month of Ramadan.
Residents of the city will be supplied gas for Sehri between 2:30 AM and 8:00 AM, while for Iftari between 2:30 PM and 10:00 PM.
In order to ensure a non-stop of supply of gas during the holy month, the SNGPL has formed 100 committees.
Rashid Inayat, General Manager Lahore East, has said that the teams will perform their duties 24/7.
On the other hand, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) failed to fulfill its promise of the provision of gas to consumers in Karachi during Sehri, as there was no supply of gas at the time of the first Sehri of the holy month of Ramadan in the Old City area of the provincial capital, prompting the people to use LPG cylinders instead.
People flocked to the LPG cylinders shop early in the morning.
A citizen complained that there was no supply of gas during the Sehri time. “The moment the Sehri time was over, the gas supply was restored.”
Consumers also complained about an increase in the prices of cylinders, and demanded the government to keep an eye on their prices.
They expressed pessimism that they would gas during Ramadan.
