Social Media Triumphs: Raiwand family reunites with missing son after three months

RAIWAND: The influential role of social media has helped bring a missing child back to his family after three months apart. According to ARY News, Bilal, a seven-year-old from Raiwand in Punjab, was located in a neighborhood of Shikarpur, Sindh.

Bilal had run away from his home in Raiwand three months prior and eventually found himself in Shikarpur. Struggling to navigate the unfamiliar environment alone, he reached out to local authorities for help.

At the same time, the Child Protection Bureau of Sindh leveraged social media channels to locate Bilal’s family. His parents discovered a video of him on YouTube and promptly contacted the Shikarpur police. They then traveled to Sindh to reunite with their son and bring him back home.

This incident underscores the positive potential of social media, reminding society to harness these platforms for constructive purposes despite their drawbacks.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced new safety measures for school transportation. The Transport Department has issued a directive requiring all private school buses to acquire fitness certificates.

regulation stipulates that operating without a valid fitness certificate will result in the suspension of the vehicle’s registration. Authorities emphasized that unfit buses pose significant safety risks for students and can lead to traffic issues. Schools are expected to adhere to the new rules immediately to ensure student safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
