South Africa Beat Pakistan By Six Wickets In 2nd T20

LAHORE: Pite van Biljon and Reeza Hendricks scored 42 runs each as South Africa beat Pakistan by six wickets in second T20I to level the thre-matches series 1-1.

After losing a couple of wickets for just 21 runs, South Africa were well supported by the heroics of Hendricks and Biljoin who scored a match-winning partnership of 77 runs.

Sent into bat first, Pakistan once again got their wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan out there to fight despite losing wickets at the other end. He scored 51 runs off 41 balls with the help of six boundaries and a six.

Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf resisted a bit and scored 20 and 30 runs not out respectively as Pakistan scored 144-7 in 20 overs.

Dwaine Pretorius was phenomenal with the bowl as he took his maiden T20I fifer. The right-arm medium pacer bowler finished with the figures of 5-17 in four overs.

In reply, South Africa lost their opener, Janeman Malan, and one down batsman JJ Smuts earlier but Hendricks and Biljoin did the job for the visitors.

Mohammad Nawaz got a breakthrough for Pakistan in the 13th over by removing well-set Biljoin but David Miller (25) and Heinrich Klaasen (17) scored 40 runs together, in the end, to finish off with a win.

Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets while Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Qadir bagged a wicket each.
