South Africa romp victory against Australia by 134 runs in WC 2023

Lucknow: South Africa romped a victory against Australia by a huge 134 runs in a league match of ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 here in Attal Bihari Vajpaye cricket stadium.

In a season of tons and half centuries no any Kangroos battter scored all the two as Marnus Labuschagne was top scorer with 46 runs.

Australian showed poor performance as five of its batter could not cross double digits.

Proteas bowler Kagiso Rabada remained top bowler by taking three wickets. Whereas Keshav Maharaj
Tabraiz Shamsi and Marco Jansen got two wickets each.

Australia for the second time have taken wrong decision after winning the toss as today it decided to field and the proteas had given enormous target of 312 runs.

Kangaroos against India won the toss elected to bat first and India restricted Australia on 199 runs and later losing first match of the World Cup 2023.

From South Africa, first wicket partnership between Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma helped proteas set outstanding total of 312 runs which included a splendid ton of albeit against Australia.

Quinton de Kock made a superb century on 106 balls with eight fours and five sixes while disastrous strike rate of 102. 83.

His partner Temba Bavuma scored a valuable 35-runs on 55 balls.

From Kangroos side Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwel got two wickets each. Wherea Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa took one wicket each.
