Special court indicts PTI chairman, vice-chairman in cipher case

Rawalpindi: A special court established under the official secret act on Monday indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case.

Judge of the special court Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the cipher case in Adyala jail Rawalpindi.

A legal team of the PTI chairman appeared before the court which insisted the court to stop the indictment, while the court rejected the PTI chief insistence for stopping the indictment.

Judge remarked that today’s date is for the indictment.

The court indicted the PTI chairman and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi while the PTI chairman and vice-chairman refused committing the crime.

The court calling the witnesses prorogued the hearing till October 27.

FIA prosecutor talk to media

Talking to media after the hearing, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) special prosecutor Shah Khawar said that the counsels also conducted discussion for a distribution of copies of the challan, however, today was fixed for indictment and indictment were read in the open court.
