Islamabad: A Special Parliamentary Committee (SPC) first meeting will be held today for an appointment of Chief Justice (CJ) Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).
The APC members will meet at 4 pm in evening at the parliament house whereas the SPC will finalize one single name for appointment of CJ.
Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Shaista Pervez Malik and Azam Nazeer Tarrar are part of the APC from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) whereas Raja Pervez Ashraf , Naveed Qamar and Senator Farooq H Nayik will represent Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Rana Ansar will also part of the SPC from Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P.)
On the other hand, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Senator Ali Zafar have been made members of the committee from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) representing the opposition.
