RAWALPINDI: The funeral rites for Major Adnan Aslam of the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) took place at Chaklala Garrison on Tuesday evening.
Major Adnan, aged 31, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital after sustaining critical wounds during the terrorist attack in Bannu on September 2. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the officer, a native of Rawalpindi, demonstrated exceptional bravery in defending against the attack carried out by militants linked to India’s proxy groups.
The funeral was attended by prominent leaders including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, high-ranking military officials, government representatives, and family members of the martyr.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Major Adnan’s courage and patriotism, describing him as “a brave son of the nation whose courage and sacrifice will forever inspire.
