KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced three daily gas supply windows for domestic consumers during winter, saying the schedule follows federal government directives and aims to cover household cooking times.
Gas will be available from **6:30am to 9am, noon to 2:30pm, and 6pm to 9pm**, according to the company.
Separately, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has imposed similar restrictions for households in Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, citing limited LNG supplies and increased seasonal demand.
SNGPL has also cut gas deliveries to the CNG sector from 50 million cubic feet per day to 35 mmcfd, with a complete suspension possible in the coming days. Cement producers have switched to coal, while some industrial users are facing reduced supplies.
Industries directly connected to the transmission network are receiving about 200 mmcfd, while the power and fertiliser sectors are being supplied approximately 140 mmcfd and 53 mmcfd, respectively. Further cuts to industrial supplies have not been ruled out.
