Stake Holders In South Asia Should Work Together for Peace: Alice Wells

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, South and Central Asia, Alice G. Wells has said that all the stakeholders in South Asia should work together for peace and security.

Press release issued by the USA embassy said that  Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, South and Central Asia, Alice G. Wells called on PM adviser on finance Dr. Hafeez Shiekh, foreign secretary Sohail Mahmood, additional secretary interior Tariq Sardar and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Gen Zubair Hayat.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, South and Central Asia, Alice G. Wells also met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa along with US Special Rep for Afgan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad.

Pakistan and USA deliberated upon economic relations during the visit of Alice G. Wells and she reiterated the US determination to get joint purposes.

Talking to journalists in the US embassy, she said that economic stability in Pakistan is necessary for regional stability adding that Pakistan will be benefitted the most if peace established in Afghanistan.

She said that the USA supported PM Imran Khan statement regarding actions against non-state actors while implementation on a national action plan in Pakistan is welcoming.

The US diplomat said that the atomic power could not be involved in disputes adding that Pakistan and USA enjoy the best trade relations.
