Rawalpindi: A hearing of the cipher case in an official secret act court on Friday could not recorded statement of the prosecution owing to the absence of defense counsel.
Judge of the court established under the official secret act, Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the cipher case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi, Shah Khawar and Rizwan Abbassi appeared before the court.
Barrister Taimour Malik and Faiza Shah attended the court, however, defense counsel Salman Safdar didn’t appear before the court.
Owing to absence of the defense counsel the prosecution’s three witnesses could not recorded their statements in the court.
The court also called three more witnesses on the next hearing. The court also allowed five family members of each of the PTI chairman and vice-chairman for attending the hearing.
The case was prorogued till November 14.
Prosecutors Media Talks
The FIA prosecutor Shah Khawar talking to media apprised that the objection used to of raise by the accused on the court premises owing to which today’s hearing was held in the community hall of the jail.
Another prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbass Naqvi talking to media said that the accused expressed confidence on today’s environment of the court.
