Story of green-crescent flag

The Pakistani flag was created by the workers of freedom movement and colleagues of Quaid-e-Azam to give a distinct recognition to Pakistan after the division of Indo-Pak sub-continent. The green and white colors of the flag show to the world that all the communities living in Pakistan are one.

Flag of any nation is the symbol of its dignity and honor. The three-fourth portion of Pakistan’s flag represents majority Muslims while one-fourth of it represents the minorities. The Star represents knowledge and light while the crescent is the traditional symbols of Muslims.

The green segment of the flag was presented to All India Muslim League by Ameeruddin Qidwai in 1906 which along with the addition of white was made the national flag of Pakistan on August 11, 1947 or just days earlier than Pakistan independence on August 14, 1947.

Unmatched sacrifices rendered by our elders helped Pakistan gain independence.
