Student was not raped, she fell victim to a malicious conspiracy: CM Punjab

LAHORE: The chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that PTI involved in the alleged rape propaganda surrounding a student from a private college.

In a press conference in Lahore, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of being involved in the alleged rape propaganda surrounding a student from a private college. She stated that the girl was not a victim of sexual assault but had become a target of a despicable conspiracy. Maryam claimed that after repeated failures to incite protests, a dangerous plan was devised, especially as international events were about to take place in Pakistan.

Maryam ordered a crackdown on those spreading fake news and asserted that if this conspiracy had succeeded, it could have led to numerous casualties. She detailed that the administration had received a report of a rape incident involving a security guard at a private college, prompting immediate action. However, the girl in question had been hospitalized since October 2, after suffering severe injuries from a fall, not due to a sexual assault.

She explained that on October 10, a different girl’s name was mentioned in connection with the alleged incident, but that girl had been in the ICU. Maryam criticized the spread of false narratives on social media, calling them baseless and fabricated.

During the press conference, she presented a girl named Mah Noor, who was purportedly an eyewitness, but Maryam asserted that Mah Noor had no direct connection to the college and was misled into making statements based on hearsay.

Maryam emphasized that the security guard accused of the crime was actually on leave at the time of the alleged incident and was in custody for questioning. She indicated that the story had been constructed after the girl was found, mislabeling her as a victim of rape when she was simply a victim of a malicious scheme.

Maryam stated that the Punjab government should take the lead as a complainant in this case, which she described as affecting not just one girl, but potentially hundreds of others. She expressed gratitude to the people of Punjab for ignoring the calls for unrest and violence.

She asserted that the conspiracy’s roots could be traced to the KP government and condemned PTI as a terrorist organization that thrives on chaos, particularly when the country is progressing. Maryam vowed to ensure accountability for all involved in the conspiracy, regardless of their affiliations.

She reaffirmed her commitment to protecting women and children, stating that any incident of assault would prompt immediate action from her administration. Maryam expressed her resolve to pursue and penalize anyone complicit in the misinformation campaign, emphasizing that politics should be rooted in service, not in creating discord and chaos.
