LAHORE: In the open market of Lahore, the price of sugar has seen a significant reduction, dropping by Rs.32 per kilogram. The price of sugar has decreased from Rs.157 to Rs.125 per kg, bringing relief to consumers.
According to Rauf Ibrahim, Chairman of the Wholesale Groceries Association, the price cut on sugar is not the only good news. He also announced that the prices of several pulses have been reduced. Daal Channa has dropped by Rs.40, now costing Rs.360 per kg, while Daal Mash has seen a Rs.75 decrease, bringing its price down to Rs.425 per kg. Kabli Channa is also cheaper by Rs.45, now priced at Rs.355 per kg.
However, on the flip side, the price of flour has increased. The cost of a 20 kg bag of flour has risen by Rs.60, from Rs.1625 to Rs.1685. Following the increase in flour prices, flour dealers are now urging for an immediate price reduction to ease the burden on consumers.
