Supreme Court disappointed on Panama case: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has said that he was disappointed by Supreme Court on Panamagate issue.

Talking in AbbTakk News’ flagship talks show “Tonight with Fereeha”, Khan said in politics one has to make compromises to achieve objectives.

To a question about criticism of PTI for taking what critics say a u-turn on Parliament’s boycott, Khan said: “for achieving objective compromises are made in politics. The objective to end the boycott of Parliament is to make the Prime Minister answerable over ‘lying in the house’ about his assets.”

He said that the Prime Minister lied to the Parliament and action should be taken against him for the lie.

He added that there were contradictions in Prime Minister’s statements given in the Parliament and the Supreme Court.

Expressing his disappointment over the SC decision to adjourn the hearing of the Panamagate case, Khan said that everything had become crystal clear  and there left only three-hour hearing.

He added that the earlier the SC had expressed its intent to decide the case quickly, but when time came for delivering judgment the hearing of the case was adjourned for a month.

Regarding former Army chief General Raheel Sharif, the PTI chief said that he must have taken action on ‘Dawn leaks’. He accused the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of trying to turn Pakistan Army into Punjab Police.
