Supreme Court dismissed the audio leaks inquiry commission case as ineffective.

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench dismissed the case regarding the Audio Leaks Inquiry Commission, citing that it became ineffective upon the retirement of its Chairman, Justice (Retired) Qazi Faiz Isa.

The hearing of the case against the Audio Leaks Inquiry Commission was conducted by a five-member Constitutional Bench headed by Justice Amin Uddin, during which Hamid Khan, the lawyer of Imran Khan, former Chairman of PTI, appeared.

The Constitutional Bench remarked that Chairman of the Audio Leaks Inquiry Commission, Qazi Faiz Isa, has retired, while the other members have been appointed to the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Hamid Khan, stated that the Attorney General needs to clarify whether a new commission will be formed regarding the audio leaks or not. In response, Additional Attorney General Amir Rehman informed that the Attorney General is engaged in another constitutional bench.
