surrender or face consequences, Sindh prepares to initiate a large-scale operation against katcha bandits

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a large-scale security operation to eliminate criminal gangs in the Katcha areas, targeting notorious dacoits and restoring law and order.

Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that all resources would be utilized for targeted actions against hardened criminals. He offered dacoits an opportunity to surrender but warned of strict measures against those resisting.

Lanjar mentioned Punjab Police assistance might be sought but ruled out involving the army at this stage. Facilitators aiding criminals will face action without exception.

Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said detailed meetings had been held with senior police officials from the Sukkur and Larkana ranges to review the law and order situation. He said special focus would now be placed on Sukkur, Kashmore and adjoining areas, which have witnessed repeated incidents of criminal activity.

Lanjar acknowledged cooperation from Punjab Police in recovering several kidnapping victims and highlighted ongoing support from Rangers and law enforcement agencies.

Emphasizing zero tolerance, he assured decisive action against all criminals, urging voluntary surrenders.

The killers of Jan Muhammad Mehar will soon be arrested, he affirmed, and stressed that Sindh Police are capable of managing the situation without military intervention. Efforts to improve security in the region, including for the CPEC route, are underway.
