Karachi: Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati has said that Sindh police is involved in the occupation of railway land.
Addressing a presser at DS railway office Azam Swati said that the ministry’s job is to run the railway adding that the institutions linked to the Railway which included schools, hospitals will be run through a public-private partnership.
The Minister informed that the Ministry faced a loss of Rs 17 billion in the last five months while he expressed determination that he will do every work in the ministry with honesty.
He said that the work is on to sort out how to decrease the loss of the Railways.
Swati said that he will focus on freight services adding that tracks are existing and but not are being used.
He said that we don’t have a magic stick to fix the problems immediately but he said that we will work out of context.
He said that the same staff will run the existing trains while he accused the Sindh police is behind the occupation of the railway’s land.
The Minister said that he will visit Uzbekistan this month because Pakistan wanted to run freight services in the three countries.
