WEB DESK: An incident took place at a Taipei Metro station in Taiwan’s capital city, involving an explosion that emitted smoke and led to an attack on commuters, leaving at least nine individuals injured.
According to Taiwan’s official news outlet, Central News Agency, four of the wounded are in critical state, and the event triggered chaos and panic among passengers in the station.
Taiwan’s Prime Minister, Chiu Kuo-cheng, acknowledged the occurrence via a Facebook post but did not release additional information. Reports indicate that the suspect may have taken their own life following the attack.
Authorities have yet to determine the motives behind the assault, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.
