Islamabad ( March 14, 2018): The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday deferred the indictment of State Minister for Interior Tallal Chaudhry on contempt of court charges for a day.
Tallal Chaudhry appeared before the court on Wednesday and disallowed the defendant from defending his case before the indictment.
Tallal’s counsel Kamran Murtaza argued that there are precedents of several court judgments when the bench has shown leniency in such cases.

Justice Maqbool Baqar observed that the matter is not of dishonouring an individual but an institution.
However, the hearing was adjourned for a day after the counsel informed the bench that he has to attend a funeral today.
The court provided Tallal Chaudhry with a copy of the charge-sheet and would frame the charges tomorrow.
