Tax on stationary items can’t be removed: IMF

Islamabad: The negotiations between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the government over the tax reduction on the stationary items.

The IMF categorically said that a tax on the stationary items which includes pencil, pen and all other items can’t be removed.

The financial body has said that tax on the text books and newspapers can be waived.

The federal government has imposed a tax of 10 percent on the stationary items owing to which commodities prices have become expensive by a 15 percent.
