The by-election for Punjab PP-7 constituency Taxila will be held today. The polling will begin at 8 in the morning and will continue without any break till 5 pm.
The Election Commission is holding the by-election under the supervision of the Pak army and a tough competition is expected between the candidates of the ruling OMLN and the PTI.
The seat was left vacant due to the death of PTI legislator Muhammad Siddiq Khan.
There are 167 polling stations in all of which 21 are being declared extra sensitive, 38 sensitive, and 108 as normal.
Around 2,000 police personnel will look after the security during the by-election while personnel of Elite Force have also been deputed.
The local administration has imposed Section 144 around the polling stations.
