WEB DESK: American singer Taylor Swift has paid tribute to her father, Scott Swift, by making a $1 million donation to charity.
Earlier this year, her father underwent a quintuple bypass surgery after doctors identified five blockages in his heart. Despite the seriousness of the procedure, Swift later shared that her dad was doing incredibly well during his recovery.
On Tuesday, the American Heart Association announced that the pop icon had made a significant personal contribution to their organization.
Nancy Brown, the association’s CEO, highlighted the impact of Swift’s generosity, stating that it would lead to meaningful changes extending far beyond its monetary value. She emphasized that Swift’s dedication to supporting her father would inspire others to prioritize their own heart health, promote preventive measures, and reduce controllable risks—ultimately helping more people lead longer and healthier lives.
Brown further explained that the donation would fund key initiatives such as research, public education, CPR training programs, and the creation of medical guidelines.
She also noted how Swift has long been associated with the “heart hands” gesture and explained its shared significance with the organization. Brown expressed hope that this gesture would unite people in their fight against heart disease, encouraging collective efforts to build a healthier future for generations.
Both Taylor Swift and her father have publicly acknowledged the donation.
