Teachers in Punjab protest over privatization of schools

LAHORE: The teachers of Punjab has taken streets over privatization of schools against privatization, while complained for low salary and lack of departmental development, whereas the teachers announced to continue to protest until acceptance of their demands.

All government school teachers in Punjab staged protest against privatization of schools. The teachers blocked Mall Road of Lahore, saying that thousands of teachers will be unemployed after government schools were given to private sector.

PPP leader Shaukat Basra, Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Waleed Iqbal and Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Secretary Information Qaiser Sharif also arrived in Mall Road. Talking to media, Waleed Iqbal said that schools privatization decision proved the incompetency of rulers. The teachers said that they will not move from Mall Road until their demands fulfilled.
