New York (September): Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua met with United States’ Under Secretary of State for political affairs Tom Shannon on Monday and stressed upon intra-Afghan dialogues for sustainable peace in the war-torn country and in the region.
Janjua also conveyed Pakistan’s viewpoint on the new strategy announced for the region earlier by President Donald Trump and added that Pakistan will continue its role for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.

The foreign secretary further added that Pakistan will carry on a facilitating role for a peaceful Afghanistan.
Janjua stressed upon joint efforts for the elimination of IS militants in Afghanistan. Both sides agreed to remain engaged at all levels in the coming days.
