Attackers are killers not mujahideens, condemns JUI Chief

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stated that terrorists are targeting mosques, and they are not mujahideen but killers and criminals.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman visited Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak to offer condolences and recite Fatiha for the martyrdom of Maulana Hamid ul-Haq.
During this visit, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said, “How can a gun be used against a religious scholar? Terrorists are targeting mosques; these people, by invoking the name of jihad, are showing the path to paradise.”
He further stated, “Raising a gun against a religious scholar is narrow-mindedness, not jihad. Maulana Hassan Jan was also martyred. How can we call the murderer of our teacher a mujahid? From the heart, only curses come out for them. They are not mujahideen; they are killers and criminals. These black winds will pass, and these madrasas and religious scholars will remain.”
He added, “The grief of Maulana Samiul Haq’s martyrdom is still fresh, and now his son has also been martyred. Actions against humans and religious scholars are not jihad but terrorism. Previously, we used to pray that Allah guides them, but now from the heart, only curses come out for them.”
He said, “This attack was not on Hamid ul-Haq but on my house and my madrassa. Separation is unbearable, and there is no solution except patience.”
