Lahore: Six new players have been included in Pakistan test team as the selection committee announced 16-member squad for second and third test.
Whereas the selection committee has dropped former captains Baber Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The selection committee also dropped Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah for the second and third test.
New players includes Muhammad Ali, Sajid Khan, Kamran Ghulam, Noman Ali, Mehran Mumtaz, Zahid Mahmood and Haseeb Ullah.
Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel retained as captain and vice-captain respectively.
Abdullah Shafique, Muhammad Rizwan, Amir Jamal, Sayim Ayub , Salman Ali Agha, Muhmmad Hureera, Meer Hamza are part of the squad.
It is likely that Kamran Ghulam and Mehran Mumtaz will debut for the test match.
Selector Aqib Javed said that we believe that hiatus of rest break will help dropped cricketers to restore their confidence.
The team selection committee comprises Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, Hassan Cheema, advisor Bilal Afzal, director domistic Abdullah Khurram Niazi, director high performance Nadeem Khan and Asad Shafique.
