Darpan, the famous hero of Pakistan film industry, was born in Uttar Pradesh, India on 1928. Ishrat Abbas, also known as actor Darpan, belonged to the famous Santosh family of Pakistan.
Darpan started his film career in 1950 with the film ‘Amanat’. On his return to Pakistan, he acted in several successful films, including Saathi, Raat Ke Rahi, Sahili, Gulfam, Qadidi, Aanchal, Baji, Shikoh, Ek Tera Sahara and Naila etcHis last successful film as a hero was ‘Pail Ki Jhankar’ released in 1966, after which he also played character and supporting roles. 8 films were made in Punjabi and two in Pashto.
Darpan was married to popular heroine Nayar Sultana, Darpan died on November 8, 1980 at the age of 52 due to prolonged illness
