Lahore: The 52nd Martyrdom day of Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed ,who defeated Pakistan’s eternal enemy India in the Indo-Pak War of 1971, is being celebrated today
Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed was born on April 28, 1943 in Gujarat district of Punjab, Major Shabir Sharif, brother of former Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and nephew of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti, Major Shabir Sharif martyred on December 1971, was commanding a company of Frontier Force Regiment in Sulaimanki sector, he was entrusted with the campaign to capture a high dam.
In order to reach this position, apart from the mines of the enemy, they had to cross a deep defensive canal, Sabuna, however, despite the heavy shelling of the enemy, they broke through the enemy while leading their company.Till the evening of December 3, in this battle of Ghamsan, forty-three soldiers of the enemy were killed and several tanks were destroyed, while twenty-eight were taken prisoner and the commander of the Indian army, Major Narayan, was killed and valuable documents were obtained from him.
On the afternoon of December 6, while defending against another enemy attack, Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed was hit by an enemy tank shell by which he was martyred. Courage and Nishan Haider were granted
