LAHORE: The adviser to the prime minister on political affairs, Rana Sanaullah, stated on Saturday that the concept of distinguishing between “good and bad Taliban” has proven ineffective, emphasizing that any act of terrorism will be met with an appropriate response.
While addressing the media in Lahore, the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader remarked that there is no distinction such as good or bad when it comes to terrorism, a person is either a terrorist or not. He assured that no one would be allowed to threaten Pakistan’s security, stressing that every act of terrorism would be countered decisively.
Sanaullah further commented that Pakistan would never instigate a war, nor would it rely on external parties during conflicts.
He expressed his disappointment over Afghanistan’s conduct, stating that the country could no longer bear the burden of repeatedly mourning martyrs. He underlined the government’s resolve to prevent the spread of chaos and sedition within Pakistan.
Additionally, Sanaullah mentioned that banning political parties was no longer part of the PML-N’s approach. Referring to recent developments, he shared that the Punjab government has forwarded its recommendations to the federal authorities, but it is ultimately up to the federal cabinet to reach a decision.
