KARACHI: In a tragic incident at Karachi’s Manora Beach, three students lost their lives while swimming in the sea, with two others being rescued on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses and Edhi rescue workers stated that out of five young men who went to the beach for leisure and a picnic, three drowned while attempting to bathe in the water, and two were successfully saved by Edhi divers.
The rescued individuals were taken ashore by the Edhi Maritime Services team, who also led the rescue efforts. The families of the victims have been notified; however, they have yet to arrive at the hospital, rescue officials confirmed.
All the victims are believed to be friends and students of Dow University. The incident has raised concerns about safety at the popular Karachi beach, especially during peak leisure hours.
